PenPal Program

What is the PenPal Program?

The PenPal Program is a way to connect athletes all over Pacific Swimming. Monthly emails are sent out with prompts corresponding with the monthly theme. It is essentially an online friend that you can write to as often as you’d like.

How does it work?

Athletes are paired up based on their age and their interests. Every 3 months, they have the option to switch. Every month, they receive question prompts to help ease conversation. But, they are free to talk about whatever they’d like.

How can I sign up?

Fill out our application form: https://forms.gle/iV4qNL9tYa4mviFS8

We send out the monthly emails on the first of every month. You must apply before then. You only need to apply once, unless you leave.

What are the requirements?

You must be a registered Pacific Swimming Athlete who has been registered with Pacific Swimming within the last year.

Are there rules?

Please be respectful to your partner and stick to PG topics since we have many younger swimmers in the program. We won’t read your emails, but you are still acting as part of Pacific Swimming, meaning you must abide by the MAAPP rules and other athlete protection policies. If you are 18 or older with a 17 or younger partner, you must copy an adult on ALL emails. Bullying will not be tolerated. If you want to leave the program, just email us with your partners information so they can be regrouped. We hope that you can email with your buddy at least once a month. Failure to meet this requirement may result in you being released from the program. Thank you for sticking to these guidelines.
