Starting with the 2006-07 swim year, Pacific's Top Times reports are derived from the USA Swimming SWIMS database. Our Top Times reports include times achieved by our swimmers in all USA Swimming meets, not just those in Pacific, and in addition include swims at approved meets, observed high school league and sectional championship meets, and observed college meets.
For our age group and senior swimmers, our reports show the top 25 swimmers in each age group, sex, and event. The reports for 8/unders shows the top 25 swimmers in events 50 yards or longer (the SWIMS database does not include times for 25 yard events for 8/unders).
The season for the annual Top Times listings is September 1 through August 31.
Prior to the 2006-07 swim year, the following standards were in place for reportable times:
For 8/under swimmers, PRT times (Pacific
Reportable Times) were used as the time standard for compiling the
Top Ten age group times each season. For all other age groups, Q times were
used as the reportable time standard, and PRT times served as a recognition time
standard between Q and National Reportable times.
Q and PRT times achieved at meets sanctioned by Pacific were
automatically reported to the Pacific Top 16 Tabulator by the host clubs.
Any reportable swims that were not achieved at
Pacific-sanctioned meets (except for those achieved at Sectional
Championships and National Championships) were required to be reported to the
Top 16 Tabulator in order to be
considered for Top Ten rankings or Pacific Swimming records.
