April 29, 2024 - Congratulations to the Pacific Swimming Athletes Representing the Western Zone at the Select Camp!
Congratulations to the 4 Pacific Swimming athletes representing the Western Zone at the combined Western Zone and Central Zone Select Camp to be held May 30 - June 2, 2024, at the Olympic Paralympic Training Camp in Colorado! They are:
Stella Canoles (OAPB)
Shareef Elaydi (SCSC)
Erin Griffis (PASA)
Cade Vieler (TRIV)
2024 Athlete Eligibility
- Athletes must be registered USA Swimming members at the time of the qualifying performance and at the time of the camp.
- Athletes must be a registered USA Swimming athlete member in good standing.
- Athletes must be US citizens & have not represented any other World Aquatics Federation at an international competition.
- Eligible athletes will be the respective ages at the time of the qualifying swim:
- Girls: 12-13
- Boys: 13-14
- Athletes who have previously attended a Zone Select Camp, National Select Camp, National Team and/or National Junior Team camp* are not eligible.
- Athletes who have represented USA Swimming internationally in a pool competition are not eligible for camp.
2024 Selection Criteria
In 2024, USA Swimming will host two (2) Zone Select Camps. One camp to host the Eastern and Southern Zone, and the second camp will host the Western and Central Zone. Each camp will consist of 56 athletes. Athletes will be selected by the following method:
The fastest available athlete in each Olympic pool event per zone
- Zone 1- 14 events (28 athletes, top male and female swimmer)
- Zone 2- 14 events (28 athletes, top male and female swimmer)
Additional Information:
- Doubles will be resolved by placing the athlete in their highest HY-tek power point event.
- The pool event qualifying period is September 1st, 2022 until August 31st, 2023.
- Athletes are selected based on Long Course Meter pool swims.
