Pacific's Top Times reports are derived from the USA Swimming SWIMS database. Our Top Times reports automatically include times achieved by all swimmers registered in Pacific in all sanctioned USA Swimming meets, not just those taking place in Pacific's territory. In addition, they include swims by swimmers registered in Pacific at approved meets, observed high school league and sectional championship meets, and observed college meets. (Follow this link for a definition of approved and observed meets.)
Our reports show the top 25 swimmers in each individual event, except for the single-age LSC Top Ten ranking, which shows the top ten swimmers in each event. In relay events, we show the top ten times in each event. There is no minimum time standard required to qualify for a Top Times ranking -- just a top ranking in the LSC. Swimmers' ages for purposes of computing their top times ranking in a given event are their ages as of the first day of the meet in which they swam the achieved time in the event, not their age as of the date of the report.
The "swim year" for the annual Top Times listings, both in Pacific and nationally, is September 1 through August 31. After the close of the swim year, USA Swimming aggregates the top times for swimmers ages 11-18 from all over the country and gives awards to individual swimmers and relay teams who rank in the Top Ten nationally in any events.
Any questions concerning Top Times rankings should be directed to Top Times coordinator Rick Beebe at this email address.
