Zone 2 Evaluation for Advancement Requests

Hello Zone 2 Officials,

We have implemented a new process for requesting evaluations at Pacific Swimming Zone 2 age group swim meets, effective immediately:

If you think you are ready to be evaluated in any position, please send a request to the Zone 2 Official Chairs at zone2official@gmail.com at least 10 DAYS PRIOR to the start of the meet at which you would like to be evaluated to see if you are eligible.

--this applies to any position (Stroke & Turn, Chief Judge, Starter, Deck Ref, Admin Official) for any LSC level. PacSwim Senior Meets and National level meets have their own protocols for evaluation requests and evaluations.

--requests for evaluations on the "day of" at a Zone 2 meet will not be considered except under extraordinary circumstances, and then only at the complete discretion of the Meet Referee

One time only exception: the AAA meet is being held this coming Nov. 13-14. Deadline for those evaluation requests for AAA is Monday, Nov. 8th.

You will be notified of your eligibility (or not) prior to the meet, and that information will be sent to the Meet Referee prior to the meet.

A list of Zone 2 meets that have been sanctioned is available below.

Requirements needed for evaluation/advancement can found on the Pacific Swimming website if you follow this link: https://www.pacswim.org/members/zones/officials/general-information

[Note: they are from 2017 and so are missing requirements about Athlete Protection Training (APT) and Concussion Protocol Training (CPT).]

Thank you for your consideration.

If you have any questions, please send them to zone2official@gmail.com
