April 21, 2020 - Western Zone Championship Meets to Be Postponed One Year

The Western Zone Leadership team met with the General Chairs of the WZ LSC's on Friday, April 17, 2020, to review the current COVID-19 situational impact on Western Zone Events. Much discusssion was made about the current state of the pandemic and on what is in the best interest of Western Zone Athletes and Teams. Knowing that it still may be a period of time before we are back in the water in any capacity, we looked at competitive events and arrived at the conclusion that it would be in the best interest of all involved to postpone our 2020 WZ Championship meets until 2021. The Meet calendar will be updated with the latest 2021 dates and the Host Teams from 2020 will move out one year to 2021. All other host teams have accepted to remain hosts; however, one year later than the original plan. We all look forward to the re-start of swimming in the Western Zone and will keep you updated as plans progress to open for practice and competition again.

The Western Zone Open Water Championship remains on our calendar at this time. It is scheduled to be held September 29, 2020 in Coronado, CA. We will make any updates as and when we know them.
